Get to know Folwark Łękuk in Wild Masuria!

The farm in numbers – interesting facts
Folwark Łękuk is located in the heart of Dzika Masuria, in the buffer zone of the Borecka Forest on the varied shore of Lake Łękuk, where, according to the report of the Institute of Environmental Protection, we breathe the cleanest air in Poland* . Right next to it are bisons (about 90 animals), which number more than the inhabitants of Łękuk Mały village ( 63 people).

The hilly landscape resembles the small Beskid Mountains and is inhabited by diverse fauna: 139 species of birds, including 128 strictly protected species, 15 wolves and several hundred antlered deer, moose and roe deer.

Hotel close to nature
In 1707, when Wilhelm Fleischer was building the first wooden manor house in Łękuk, the primeval Borecka Forest roared nearby, full of wild animals, headed by the king of the Forest – the bison. Today, after over 300 years, we can still admire these wonderful animals, watch white-tailed eagles soaring high and breathe the cleanest air .

With a bit of luck, you can meet extremely rare animals on the forest trails, including wolves and even lynxes. The Borecka Forest is a bird sanctuary within the Natura 2000 network – as many as 139 different species of birds nest here.

Healthy recreation in Masuria
Today’s fashionable word “wellness” is understood much more broadly than just soaking in water with bubbles. People come to Łękuk for life energy . Break away from everyday life in the big city, traffic jams and stress, look inside yourself, heal your soul and body. There is something in the air, in the landscape, in the people – that after just a few hours of staying here, we start walking slower, looking more carefully, absorbing with all our senses.
